The owner of the Downtown Tietze Haus is a direct descendant of the Tietze
family who settled in New Braunfels in
1852, shortly after the original settlement arrived in the
1840's. After returning home from France after WWI in 1919,
Ernest Tietze married his sweetheart. They built this house in 1921,
where they lived the rest of their lives. They had
1 daughter and 4 grandchildren. |

has a queen size bed, the front bedroom has 2 twin beds, and a
double sofa bed is available in the living area. The
Downtown Tietze Haus has over 1300 square feet of living area.
Enjoy your morning coffee on the deck under a large pecan tree or relax on
the open front porch. You can BBQ in the spacious backyard.

Downtown Tietze Haus
is located at 451 S. Castell Ave. within walking distance of downtown shopping and restaurants, the
Schlitterbahn, and Comal tubing exit. There are many other nearby
attractions such as Landa Park and it's swimming facilities.
It is also within walking distance of the Huisache Grill which
houses the Tietze Cabinet Shop. On the grounds of the restaurant is
the original Tietze homestead currently home to a stained-glass
business. The Downtown Tietze Haus is located behind the Civic Center and the
Chamber of Commerce, across the street from the New Braunfels City
Offices.
